Yes, I know, but that's exactly why it's worth
adding non-BMW wheel lock bolts: specialized thieves possess the BMW wheel locks key set, so it's just an easy-peasy unplug and run job.
If you got additional wheel lock bolts, like for example McGard, it's more work for them (eventually forcing the locks till these break) and they may possibly skip the idea of stealing your wheels but look for an easier target.
EDIT: the wheel bolts pictured below fit the 1M (M12x1.5). I used to have these: McGard 27179 sub - Black finish head ("Black Edition") (see
here and
here).
