Wheel Fitment: Offset

Lesson learned: test fit new custom rims before putting the tires on.

I recently purchased a 2011 335i x-drive sedan with stock 17-in rims.

Went to a tire shop (Kal Tire) and bought a set of CORE RACING brand M3 replica rims for my winter tires. Spec - Size: 17x7.5, Offset: 41, Hole: 5, PCD: 120.

However, when trying to install them onto my bimmer, the front won't fit as the rims interfere with the break. Took them back to the tire shop and the technician suggested that we try a different set with 18 offset instead of 41.

My question is, will they work with my bimmer? According to the BMW dealer, stock rims have an offset of 34, so offset 18 rims will be rubbing the fender, while offset 41 will be rubbing the break.

If that is the case, my options left will be buying the stock rims ($490 each new, various price used), or custom rims from reputable vendors that specialize in BMW rims like Beyern, etc. (Is a budget of $250 each realistic?)

Suggestions?
