The user experience of Car Play seems to be a mixed bag on the G30, so won't be adding it in the future. BMW charges USD $300 to download Car Play to the car. Too much money for questionable functionality.

I like Carplay. UI is pretty, easy to use, easy to navigate; Apple Music, Audible and overcast have great interfaces on it; texting with Siri work well especially with shorter messages; and Waze will be there soon!
And it's been very stable for me. But it doesn't replace iDrive completely. Especially the lack of HUD integration is a deal breaker for navigation.
