DTC (dynamic traction control) is a sub-system of DSC (dynamic stability control). DSC (on by default) technology prevents wheel slippage by either applying ABS braking and/or reducing engine throttle when wheel slippage is detected on either axle. DTC (off by default) allows some wheel slippage to occur without using engine throttle reduction.

In SPORT mode DSC is ON/DTC is OFF...so any wheel spin/slippage is corrected quickly. In SPORT+ mode...DSC is OFF/DTC is ON...so some wheel slippage is allowed.

Wheel slippage will also reduce forward movement...so it is quite possible that acceleration is quicker in SPORT mode (DSC ON/DCT OFF) vs SPORT + mode (DSC is OFF/DTC is ON) thus wheel slippage is allowed...especially if trying to accelerate quickly.
