I respect not buying a vehicle without driving it first, but I believe that viewpoint is becoming more and more old fashioned. A good example is all those whom order a vehicle before it's even released. These days, this practice is downright commonplace among enthusiasts!
All someone has to do to obtain a test drive, is display a serious intent to purchase the vehicle FROM THAT DEALER. The rarer (and higher-demand) the vehicle, the more you'll have to convince the dealer you're serious. That's why nearly anyone can test drive a Honda Accord; yet test driving a Ferrari requires a lot more proof of serious intent.
