I agree! The last 20-ish minutes of that movie are profound. The scene with DeNiro will be one of the classic
Joker scenes. I still think Ledger's
Joker was more memorable and frenetic, and Nicholson was fantastic in his day, but Phoenix did a great job in his own right. I went in expecting to hate the movie.
I will say that the age disparity between Joker/Bruce Wayne in
Joker is a bit problematic. To have a Joker easily in his mid/late 30's while Bruce Wayne is about 8 years old just doesn't make sense. That would easily put The Joker in his 50's by the time Batman appears in Gotham.
