Shocks don't affect ride height......springs do.
I wouldn't be surprised if the springs started to sag. They were soft to begin with, I believe BMW geared it towards comfort over handling. Like Salzamani, there was no rebound on any of them. I feel the "lowered" effect was because I was pretty much riding on springs at the point. Hit bump stops on any medium/large bump over 20mph
