Not at all. If you dont reset your mpg counter then it will be hard for the cars average to change much. Mine stays at 17mpg all the time because I usually drive in town and hoon out of town. If I reset it before I go on a journey it will work out the average of that trip only. It will be at 30 by the time you reach your destination.
