If Vettel were leading in the drivers points Ferrari would have deferred to him in terms of keeping Kimi. At this point though I think Vettel is what he is and under pressure he can make mistakes. Next year Ferrari will need a clearly superior car to beat Mercedes.

LeClerc has been looking very quick lately in that Sauber. He definitely is being brought in to challenge Vettel. Remember what Ricciardo did to Vettel during his last year at Red Bull.
