Everything I have read is that:
1 - If you have an active subscription, you don't have to pay anything
2 - if you don't have an active subscription, you have to pay $80 to get the long-term
The $300 option is gone/replaced, as I understand it.
At $80, I would say "go for it". For $300, I would really have to think about how long I plan to keep a car and an iPhone.
Log on to the ConnectedDrive web site and see what it says about your current CarPlay status.
