Many SA's are good salespeople with questionable mechanic experience. I've learned with BMW to always read between the lines and take what the SA says with a grain of salt, especially when it comes to conjecture.
My brother is an M-certified master mechanic for BMW and he says this is complete and utter bullshit.
I'll take my chances on what bro says.
