I spent a fair amount of time looking for some prepainted Alpine white body components such as the rearview mirror caps and the front fender louvers. In the end, nothing (good) was found, so I decided to go with BMW parts and have them painted by a reasonably reputable body shop. Even that was a bit of a thorny path, yet quite expensive, but the end result is largely adequate IMO, although not perfect.
BMW builds their vehicles really well, to a high material and craftsmanship standard, therefore I believe any owner modding should aim to attain a similar quality level.
