Did either of you get a resolution to this? I've got exactly the same problem in my F80 M3 which I spotted about the same time as you. Would think the software levels are likely to be completely different so suggests the problem might be related to something else.
About to book mine in but fully expect to get a lot of blank looks at the dealers so thought i'd check if you'd had any joy first!
