IMSA BoP is on a per race basis based on the cars performance on each sector of the track.

Calling this a BoP win is simply wrong. BoP wins have been seen before (Ford GT at Le Mans when it ran P2 lap times ) and are always characterized by runaway wins. This weekend saw Porsche Corvette and BMW all on the same lap for most the race. Ferrari as well was there b it incidents got in the way.

BMW won this based on the design of the car. Big car means big surface area for aero, fancy anti dive suspension helps tire degradation, and the ttV8 dumps massive torque right out the corner exit. All that combines for a car that does well at Spa and Daytona because it can save tires and punch up to top speed very fast for the long straights.

It's size of course hurts a bit in the corners, and you saw exactly that during the race. Porsche had it in the field but had to wind its engine up and most to bmw on the straights. This race was won by BMWs healthier tires and that's thanks to the M8.
