There were some issues, mostly software related in the 2017 model year. People complained the AC could not keep up on a hot day. I believe all the cars got an update by 2018 and was fine from then on.
You can search for the threads on the issue. I have a 2018 M550iX and never noticed any issues in 95+F degree days.
