Assuming that you have disconnected, deleted and re-paired your phone and made sure that 'show notifications' is selected on the bluetooth settings on your phone, then when you have a new message, an icon appears under the clock on the dash between the dials, and also in the top right of the main control screen. You then find the message in the 'Notifications' tile on the control screen
