I like the enthusiasm..but I think after these adjustments (while the first pic wasnt perfect), you have left certain areas underexposed, whereas the other had slightly overexposed values...but I like the sky

maybe a graduated filter to let some of the other values from the orig pic shine through for better exposure...an hdr of sorts!

It helps define the clouds. I find this to be the best tool in combination with Leveling. I selected Cyan and Blue and decreased the black values and it really brought out the detail in the sky after it was washed out from leveling.
