I've read similar stuff about Japan. Apparently it's not as simple as get a $1 house. Lots of requirements and they are $1 for a reason. The cost to fix them, taxes, tear them down or whatever is not usually worth the value of the home or land. Anyways I guess it's great for people who have or want to spend the time money and energy to figure it all out.
