To be fair, i think this is actually a bit more complicated that it first might seem. The problem is that depending on the music source, the detailed info is a bit different in each case. HD radio, RDS FM info, ipod, usb, CD (with mp3 tag info), Sirius, DAB (europe) etc.
Also you're restricted by the number of characters thats probably available in the assist window, so I'm not so sure how useful it would be to have music info displayed.
This could be one of the reasons why BMW haven't chosen to implement it.
