As an owner of 540i decated woth armyteix exhaust.
1. Yes U can smell it. Also when U stop or revers inside your cabin.
2. I have turned off cold start so it queit on start up and woth valves closed its even quiter than my stock exhaust.
3. Its not that bad with drone. If your car had drone it will drone more but if U didin notice that earlier ot will not suddenly apper. Drone depends mostly from middle and rear section of exhaust.
Its all depends what U realy need. I wanted max free flow and now it has 470hp and 600nm (it can have much more bud for engine safety it is on that level). Bit if u dont need super hyper loud car go form 200 cell dp. Less pops and pure sound, but not smell.
