I wont do the flooring but the flooring folks said it was an option because otherwise they'd have to rip out the tile. The doors should all open as there is a nice gap. As far as the baseboards, i reckon they'll have to redo those. But i assume this has been done plenty of times before?

It's for my entire downstairs so it's not a small area.
I've head of vinyl over tile, which my neighbor did, but not wood. Maybe it's possible but seems unusual to me. (I have tile in some rooms and wood in others, but wood replaced carpet, not tile.) Please post back if you do it. I'd love to replace our tile, but not interested in living through removing it. As I look around at doors, cabinets, built in, baseboards, etc. it seems like it would be a challenging proposition to put wood over the tile.
