This is correct about adding after delivery. You can just order via connected drive. I did this in my F80 (UK). I then cancelled it again because the idrive integration is better.
I don't like the lack of album art on CarPlay, it's placed as a faded background image that you can hardly see and only shows the song currently playing not the track listing. Unless things have changed of course.
You also have to switch between iDrive and CarPlay you cannot use them both seamlessly.
I'll buy it again when my G30 arrives and cancel it again if it hasn't changed.
