I've been doing the same with my 2
My X1 got a full wash, decon, 1 step machine polish then a coat of Autoglym UHD Wax
Then my 5 series got the same treatment, although I used a few different products on this. Bonnet shot to show the results.
Ive done 0 miles, in the last 4 weeks now. Home working, plenty of time in the evening and weekends are just pottering about with the cars etc.
Mostly drunk and spending a fortune on ebay LOL
