I've never worked in a (conventional) dealership, but I imagine there is
some value in just having one on the lot. I imagine people call and the dealer could say "I have one in my showroom, come on down." Then it's on the sales team to convert the body through the door into a sale. Perhaps that means a deposit on a Supra arriving later. Perhaps that means a different car model altogether gets sold.
In summation, I don't think the dealer actually thinks they are going to get that much over MSRP. I think they just want to keep one in stock.
