I think it is important here to note that the OP has Nappa upholstery. I suspect that there is a huge difference in how some products will feel on soft Nappa vs. harder, letherette like Dakota. So I think it is important that responders note what type of seat material they have.
I have Nappa but I have not put any protective cream on the seats so I can't offer any advice.
