Some people, like me, have Registered our images with the US Copyright office. The Digital Millennium Copyright Act ("DMCA") provides for Statutory Damages in the thousands of dollars,
per Infringement.
When you can buy images, at reasonably low cost, from stock agencies, why steal them?
Oh, my attorney works on retainer, so he gets really excited when we find a Registered image that's been stolen.
Pixsy.com is excellent at finding images posted online. I'm very please with their price performance, per image found.
