If the front rim is 8" then wouldn't the 255 tire be too wide for it anyway? In that case wouldn't the widest possible option up front be 245?
I can't find any 245/35/20 in my local classifieds anywhere. The closest I get is 245/ 45 r 20s which you're suggesting won't really work anyway?

Strange that you can't find 245/35/20`? Have you tried different vendors?
