Exactly that, pretty annoying to have that whole area taken by my name, should be way better to see iOS 12 bringing Waze and other navigation apps with full screen support like does iDrive.
I saw some videos where Mercedes apparently takes full advantage of their large 12" wide screen where CarPlay fills the entire screen with icons spread across.
