Leather wear on the bottom lumbar support

I have a problem with my leather seats discolouring and my car is barely 3 years old. The area seems to be where my bottom lumbar area sits and appears to be where my lower back comes into contact with the upright section of the chair.

I originally thought it was dirt, so I bought an Autoglym leather cleaning kit only to find it was dye coming off the leather itself and I actually made it a little worse when I agitated the area.

I know there are ways to have this repaired (so not entirely annoyed), but how do I prevent this happening?

I sit in my car for 2.5 hours a day (120 miles daily), so if left as-is, this will gradually get worse over time. I've even taken to taking off my belt before I drive or stuffing a microfibre cloth between my jeans and belt, as this could rub against the area which seems ridiculous!

Surely it should last longer than this and how do I repair / protect it moving forward?

P.S. I'll take photos later today
