For a normal laptop, Yes; but most dedicated gaming laptops have moved on to 6 and 8gb GPUs b/w $1500-$2000 range (17.3). Unless you go with name brand stuff (alienware or Asus ROG(which I love the chassis)
GTX 870m 6gb
GTX 880m 8gb
GTX 970m 6gb
GTX 980m 8gb
Over the $2000 range you can get 12gb GPU
Over the $3000 range you can get 16gb GPU
Not dumping on this laptop at all. I love the Asus ROG chassis.
