I didn't/don't plan to put mine back on, but I did keep it in the garage and eventually sold it for a few hundred bucks to a shop that needed it for repairs.
Looks like OP wants to hang his in the garage next to his X5 one. We must see a picture of this stock exhaust shrine once complete!
