But you definitely need one wither 409/410 to fit the carbon diffuser. Talk about making things complicated by having a two piece diffuser with 3 different parts....

Not quite, since only the 540i Performance exhaust is currently out on the system

So its

540i wthout M performance Exhaust = 409.
540i WITH M Performance Exhaust or M550i = 410.
