It's not surprising you like the size and height of the Macan - it's a crossover and that's what nearly all Americans are buying today.

What is surprising is that you compared the Macan to the X5M when the X3 M40 [or whatever that alphabet mess is ] or upcoming X3M is the true Macan competitor.
Of course (!) a 7 seat Vehicle felt like a real SUV in comparison to your 5 GT and the roller skate that is the Macan GTS.  |
I'm not saying it makes sense, its just what I am interested in
I also agree that true Macan competitor is X3, but that is a very old model, next year the new one is coming, so no way I'm buying the current one. X3M will be magnificent car for sure, but it will take ~2 years to see it.
In short, I want sporty, comfortable car that is relatively new on the market so it won't be replaced/obsolete soon, so now my choice is down to the new 5er or Macan, both have some cons and pros.
