We had every window replaced in our house about 7 years ago. Was about $25k since every single one was a custom size. Well worth the investment though. As others have said, spend the $ to go with a reputable brand if you can.

We went with aluminum framed. Dont let the vinyl window guys talk you into how much better vinyl is due to thermal loss. The frame makes up about 1% of the surface area of the window. What really matters is high quality, low e, glass and rock solid sealing between the glass and the frame. Besides, vinyl looks like shit, IMO.
