I've done it on mine.
I got lucky and found a m550i parts out with shadowline trims. Couldn't get my hands on the B&W. someone got there first 😂😂
Did take the trims out from the doors and replaced mine with it for fraction of dealer price.
After you take front door tweeters out, there are three torx bolt underneath it. I think they were T30. Just make sure you hold the mirror while taking the last bolt out.
After removing it you can easily take the trim pieces out. Take my "easily" with a grain of salt 😭
I wanted to do a post while doing it but my finger tips were so sore that I've forgot all about taking photos during the process.
Edit: Here is the video I've used to take them out. He paints them which I'm not a fan. I was gonna buy from the dealer but I got lucky.
