You do need to remove a heat shield (2 mins), drain the fluid, activate the cooler pump (autologix makes it easy - you can jumper the pump to +12V as has been said - procedure calls for 30 seconds of pump on when draining) and then put stuff back together... All told it should take 1 hour max, if you include a coffee break. Fluid is not terribly expensive either (I used Redline D4-ATF - $65).
$700 is ridiculous for a 6MT fluid change.
