Shouldn't have to. My Ota upgrade just occurred whilst I was driving , just follow the prompts.
You can also go into your connected website and see if there is a later update and you can optionally choose to download it. You will need a 64GB usb drive for this.
My understanding is that the OTA upgrades are for your own country ie uk as an example and the full updates from the usb drive cover a larger region ie west Europe.
