In America, cars are currently allowed to have either amber turn signals or red turn signals (that could be a separate red indicator or system set up that actually uses the brake light as a turn signal).

My friend just told me that they are discussing a law to only allow Amber turn signals going forward. I haven't seen anything on it personally, but I wouldn't mind it If it came to fruition.

As far as that orange reflector that is required on US vehicles, I hear a lot of people complain about it. Some tape over it or wedge it out because they done like the way their front end looks. I know in a slightly different case, some people with their audis buy the euro spec headlights and replace their current US ones.
