Same problem here, 2018 540d.
IPhone XS, contacts are broken. Recognizes some names, not others. Incoming calls show up properly with name on phone, but only phone number on car.
Uninstalled/reinstalled bluetooth etc. Freshly paired phone to car. Same problem next day.
