Looks like swapping the brake components is pretty straight forward. Coding can be done at home with the proper equipment, or you can take it to the dealer. Brake feel may be enhanced after coding but it will not make the car inoperable if you don't do it. Many people seem to drive the car with the new hardware for a few weeks before getting around to loading the corresponding software.
