I went to this museum a few weeks ago. I thought I would post some pics now.
Btw… the city of Nuernberg is far from the famous Nuerburgring race track. Nuernberg, is located up the A9 about 1.5 hours away. Nuerburgring race track, is located West of Frankfurt by about two hours drive. Just some FYI.
This is really a small museum that shows the history of the city of Nuernberg and its culture. It has many small cars that were made all locally - after the war. And about a hundred or so motor cycles that were also all made locally. One of the more famous was Victoria AG which later became part of BMW AG.
One should not really expect much with this museum. It rather shows how life once was. Of an era gone by. And along the way they have some really old cool small cars and German culture and industrial machines.
The museum was a former metal works that made nuts and bolt fasteners. Now it is a museum. The best part of this museum, is the very last room with all the motor cycles on display. The smell of old rubber oil and gasoline is intoxicating.

The worlds first train (the Adler or Eagle) that ran from Nuernberg to Erlangen – on a 14 km long track, 1860’s I think. I know it was the first though!

The MB SL was made in N. as well. Now Quelle occupies the factory.
Quelle is like SEARS in the states…
A lot of bicycles were made here. Now its all in China.
MAN trucks (LKW’s) are still built in N. today.
An era gone by. These cars were never made here though. (the VW and Porsche!)
Motor cycle racing really took a hold here in Nuernberg on the Noris Ring.

Motorad rennen at the Noris Ring. Note, this is where Hitler gave all those speeches from. The US Army took over this area and would let the people run these races from time to time at Zepelin field.

Deutsches Bahn Museum – Nuernberg
The official history of the DB. From model trains the great halls with the real size trains, you can wonder around for hours looking at these historical trains. Plus many many floors of model trains. For big boys and the little ones too.

The museum is housed in Hitler’s former Congress Zentrum, that was never fully finished. This museum shows how Hitler came into power and how he maintained that control. A very interesting museum on a very historical ground.
