I'm planing to run 21x9 et25 and 21x10.5 et40 on my 540i xDrive, wrapped with 255/35/21 and 295/30/21 + Eibach Pro Kit.
I hope it won't give me any trouble rubbing or with the xDrive system. Regarding that you said your 255/35/21 rub sometimes on the front - but you do run a 21x8.5, witch is a 0.5 narrower in the front and the tire is more bulky.
