Deadly threat, although I have found that the Stir+ with band segmentation does pretty well against instant on if you know what to look for (blips a mile in advance). Passport max doesn't stand a chance against IO. Can't comment on V1 but your story would suggest it isn't up to the job either.
In principle the Stinger VIP with its patch antenna would be good against instant on too because a patch antenna can scan all bands simultaneously and therefore pick up blips that get lost in a sweep. Unfortunately Stinger isn't in the US. I emailed them last week offering to be a paying beta test customer for their product in the US.
