They wanted $2300USD for 5 years of Wheel & Tire when I picked up my 530e w/ 18" wheels in NJ. I told them to kick rocks.

I had a horrible amount of bubbles on my previous car which was a '14 MB C300. I had paid $800 for 5 years of MB Wheel & Tire protection and was able to go into the black on that in the first year due to our shitty roads and the weak tires. I stopped having problems immediately once I swapped to non-OE tires (to the ExtremeContact DWS06).

That being said, the vast majority of tire manufacturers and/or shops will warranty new tires for 1 or 2 years for road hazard for free. So you'll likely never make up the cost of the Wheel & Tire unless you have extremely bad tires and then you'd be better off just swapping them anyway.

It can get questionable if you damage the rims, but since these policies only cover the wheel not holding air you can still end up needing to pay out of pocket from potholes bending them enough to give you vibration and noise.

So my long winded recommendation is to put the money into a savings account and self fund your repairs. You'll likely come out ahead.
