It is allowed in German court but you cannot submit it as evidence. It has to be Taken as evidence by the polizei but cannot be given to them as evidence.. LoL German bureaucracy. The official reason I have dash cams in all of my cars is "personal video collection" and "not for public viewing". If I needed to I could casually mention my private video and not resist the polizei when they take it out of my outstretched hand.
