It might surprise you to learn that the Germans feel the same way. The Germans I know (admittedly a very small sample size) rue the day they went to the Euro. The differences in economies, especially between smaller ones like Cyprus and Greece and the larger ones like France and Germany, was just too much of an obstacle. I hope it works out somehow. If it doesn't we'll be feeling the effects here in the US as well.
