Well you do sit higher in an SUV, and in a world of SUVs on the road that's important. I also have a Z4 so I'm perfectly capable of discerning the nuances.
i'm not saying I wouldn't enjoy a 5 series estate here, I know I would. But I don't feel short changed with my X3 M Sport... And it is considerably cheaper than a new 5 touring would be, and that's nothing to sneeze at either.
