Owning an 850, you are not afraid of spending money on maintenance. Air cooled Porsches are not without issues, but are generally solid cars. The 964 has the advantage of being a little simpler compared to the 993.

The air cooled Porsches are absolutely nothing like modern water cooled cars. They still have the original 911 DNA -- even the later 90s cars fundamentally feel like a 60s era car. Loud, smelly, quirky and full of character. Alive. I personally love them and right now have a wide body 993 C4S to compliment my F90.

I think a 964 would be a fantastic complement to the 850CSi. I'd wait until I could afford both.
