Advice on plate on car is for fully loaded, and nowadays for rear an overloading is taken into account. So this is verry high, and comfort and gripp is totally gone when you drive allone ,wich is 99% of use.
So even 38 psi can be on the high side.

I am able to calculate a safe lowest pressure for the weights on tires and maximum speed used( and wont go over for even a minute).
Pressure advice is to give the tire a deflection that wont overheat any part of tire when driving the maximum speed used constantly.
Once a part of tire has been overheated long enaugh, the damage is ireversible, and every next deflection crackes the beginning cracks fuether, untill mayby only after 3 years the damage is that much build up that the tire blows, and accident and injuries. Then the moment of damagestart is already forgotten.
