This was a problem for me too. Service for ota wasn't registered from the factory with connected drive. Wrote several emails to connected drive and eventually received ota, plus complimentary usb updates for 3 years.
I found the dealer was incapable of recognising the issue let alone finding a solution. And I like my dealer. I stand to be corrected, but I think only connected drive can switch on ota.
